• It wasn't difficult to activate, but I was clearly throttle below my limit, this modem can do maximum speeds of XFinity / Cox. the biggest improvement of this from my last modem was upload speed went to 40Mbps vs 5 that the old one I had was maxed out at.

• I have Cox internet. No problem activating but did have to call with MAC address. At the time of my purchase this modem was on the Cox approved modem list.

• Is Cox a server? At any rate, I have not. I use Xfinity and they were helpful in setting it up
