Yes it will work fine. I picked up a couple of extra cables Type A to Type C USB and use them with Auto Cigarette outlets and power banks. Will Not charge as fast as the power adapter that is included with phone however.

The only draw back is you will not get the turbocharged feature you would normally get using the plug adapt the phone comes with, unless the powers bank can provide the same wattage/amp as the turbocharged plug.
