“On the Best Buy site it states: Expand your storage by up to 128GB by adding a microSD. On the Motorola site it states: Expandable storage microSD Card support up to 512 GB Which is it? 128GB or 512GB?”

I think that discrepancy is due to Best Buy not stocking higher than 128 GB microSD cards. Motorola is acknowledging that there are microSD cards made that are as big as 512 GB. I think I have a 32 GB microSD card in and I still haven't filled that up with probably close to 2000 pictures and videos and a ton of music.

The Moto G7 will accept 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Take your pick.

It may be that best buy has an earlier version. I would suggest following suit with what best buy advertises, as Motorola may have produced two different memory capabilities with a small update to the design of the phone.
