my phone announces the name of the person calling unless that number is not saved in my contacts list. I would check your phone settings because most of the information is being generated from your phone.

I suspect it is the iPhone as the typical delay between "say answer or ignore" and allowing you to respond is somewhat annoying. The Motorola Whisper has that same issue.
