• I always recommend you go with the modem with phone lines in case in the future (or now) you have a phone bundle package. If you get one without phone and you have phone in your bundle (even if you don't hook up a phone) your package will need to be changed and can result in an increase of your bill. If you have the phone option it will not activate if it is not on your service but it beats having to purchase a new device in the future if phone is offered in a bundle.

• Not same but made to replace modem from comcast, it's what I did, they have cheaper ones if you don't need one for a phone line.
