Does this mount can be used with only one monitor? null

Yes, I'm using it just for my one 32" monitor. And that works perfectly fine. You can even detach the second monitor arm, if you don't need it. -> Just be careful you don't lose any of the parts when you unscrew it.

Yes , it is study enough not to unbalance the clamp mechanism with only one monitor mounted, and frequently moved side to side.
