If I understand your question, will the laptop, when opened like a laptop (not a tablet A-Frame) fit on the holding tray. I think it would. I use a 16 MacBook Pro, and it fits on the stand with no overlap. There is only a lip on the front of the tray, so any laptop can extend over the left/right/back and still lay flat (on the holding tray). Note the stand does, have a slight forward tilt. I think this is the design to have the laptop keyboard slightly tilted toward you for easier typing, and the laptop now rests against the front edge. The holder cannot be adjusted to be perfectly flat I think by design. Using the Dell in the tablet mode, shaped like an A on the stand I don't think would be safe/sturdy. I'd would too easy to fall off. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ny wife has a dell touch screen insperon 17.3". Uses tablet mode on it. I took the extra padding and placed it on the bessel so its not resting on the kb part. Just insure its not tilted too far foward to risk falling off. Theres no bar that can be installed to prevent falling off tray.
