The coffee maker has a thermal carafe so there is no heater to keep the coffee warm after it is brewed. I find the coffee stays warm for almost 3 hours without a heater. The brewer does turn off when brewing is complete.

It does not need to shut off automatically, because it pours into. A thermo Pot, there for it does not have a heat plate to keep itself warm So it actually shuts off after brewing I love this pot 2nd purchase office & home

Yes, once all the water has been utilized. Does not have a hot plate to heat the coffee container. Coffee stays very hot in the insulated coffee container.
