- Answer The whole unit is about 7 1/2 wide by 10 1/2 deep by 12 1/2 high, in inches. The carafe is about 6 1/4 inches high.

- Answer Yes, it has the pause feature. This feature seems to work better than in previous models, too (less dripping when paused).

QuestionCan the hot plate be turned on without brewing a pot of coffee?

- Answer As far as I know, it cannot. Once it goes through it’s brew cycle, the hot plate stays on for four hours. I guess you could run a cycle with water if you just wanted the hot plate on for something else.

- Answer I have Mr.Coffee coffeepotfor several months and I don't have that experience. Please keep in mind that is designed for 12 cups of water (so don't put more than what it's designed for). If you are putting in the right amount of water and the issue still occurs, I would advise contacting the company at https://www.mrcoffee.com or their phone number at 1-800-672-6333 for further support.

- Answer It would use the basket shape. They are unnecessary, though. The maker includes a reusable mesh basket.
