I have Mr.Coffee coffeepotfor several months and I don't have that experience. Please keep in mind that is designed for 12 cups of water (so don't put more than what it's designed for). If you are putting in the right amount of water and the issue still occurs, I would advise contacting the company at https://www.mrcoffee.com or their phone number at 1-800-672-6333 for further support.
