Yes, you do need to buy filter, the regular basket kind will work just fine and the little coffee scooper to measure you coffee. I love this coffee maker for a medium priced coffee maker. I got it on sale and it was replacing a really expensive one as a temporary drip coffee maker for something I could keep for whenever I have problems with the big dogs which you always do. I'm tired of spending money on them so I"m just enjoying this one for now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It comes with a water filter that rests in top of the basket but does not have filers for the coffee included. It works really well. Just add a coffee filter and ground coffee.
