• a bit overkill for photo editing and excel , there are plenty of cheaper laptops for that purpose but you can definitely use that one

• It's a bit bulky (and heavy) and the battery life is average, at best, but as long as you can plug in from time to time it should suffice for all but the most extreme photo editing and spreadsheet functions.
