I'm currently an Engineering student that bought this laptop to run programs like AutoCAD 2017 and also things like Vectorworks and Revit. It does have a 64-bit operating system, and runs all of those programs super well while also being really light and thin if you need to carry it around in a pack of some sort.

I compared it to a desktop gaming computer and this was not quite as good but it held its own and performed very well on the benchmarks. It does have 64 bit OS and it even has 16 GB of RAM. The SSD boots really fast, and still has an internal disc HD for additional storage. It does NOT come with Microsoft Office pre-installed, so that would be an additional cost - but hopefully you can get it cheaply as a student through one of the purchase programs available. It has a dedicated video card so the output to another monitor is awesome.
