I have a little stand for it so it is elevated from the ground which help keeps it cool and I’ve been able to keep it around 80C because of it and that’s with max graphics on the heaviest games out there

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If your playing something heavy it will thermal throttle. It is absolutely not lap friendly. I wouldn’t use it in bed, carpet, or other fabric/leather surface. It gets past uncomfortable warm to painful warm on the bottom.

If you had it on your lap or a blanket in bed it would get too hot for your legs and possibly the boards, so definitely buy one of those USB stands with 2 to 4 fans. They have some for like 40 dollars online, best buy I think has one also.
