As long as you can access the back of the cpu by removing a Panel, you do not need to remove the mobo

Please try again later.The installation video provided by MSI, and some other third-party Youtubers all show the motherboard out of the case when they install the mounting bracket and cooler to the CPU. But if you, Marty, are saying you were able to do it with the motherboard in the case, then I will try that. I also have verified that the mounting bracket that came with the MSI 120mm AIO for my MSI Aegis prebuilt is different from the mounting bracket that comes with the MSI Mag 240R. I just figured MSI would use the same mounting bracket since the blockhead doesn't look any different between the 120mm and 240mm.

Without knowing what your case is, there's now way to answer your 2nd question. My case is a Corsair made for radiator cooling.
