It supports 13th gen without bios updated. Z690 boards need bios updates, the Z790 are 13th gen boards.

But you want to do that first thing because it has all the new ram settings and better updated CPU compunction algeriams. It's not hard at all. Watch some videos on your boards biot update process and you'll have no problems.
