A:Answer This machine has more than enough "memory" to handle school work. Basic web use and office/excel/word... don't need too much memory. If you are referring to the hard drive storage, this should have more than enough for school work. If you find yourself downloading lots of games/videos/uncompressed photos and you do run out of disk space, you could always get an external or even a high capacity micro sd card for less then $50.
Regarding the Office apps... most computers come with a trial of Microsoft office, but you'll eventually have to pay for it if you want to continue to use it. If you don't want to pay for Office, there are a few free alternatives (google sheets/docs or even Open Office).
Side note, I bought this machine and am very happy with it :)
