• You need a starter set that comes with a special panel that has the controls. Once you have that control panel it can drive a large number of panels so you can add several expansion sets.

• No you need a control panel that doesn't come with the expansion pack.

• You require a starter kit, as it includes the control panel (Has control buttons and is what connects to your home network) and the power cord. The expansion packs just contain 4 panels, no cords or control unit.
