Will this work without a wifi? null

No - you have to have WiFi to set it up, and then if it loses connection to WiFi, it will stop running its program, and you'll have to get it reconnected. Also, I have great WiFi connectivity but I have lots of problems getting this to connect. It only works with the 2.4 GHz band as well, so be sure you have a dual band router if you get it.
