Your speed at the modem will be what you contract with the ISP for. Normally it can be perhaps 5% to 10% better. Away from the modem other factors prevail such as your router, the device you are testing, the environment.

This modem will work with any router at your subscribed speed up to 680Mbps. I can't really find specs on an ac3500... I see several for an AC5300??? A device wired to the AC5300 should be able to use 100% of your connection. Wireless performance will vary depending on signal, band, number of devices, etc... Older routers may have trouble keeping up with the modem but that's not the modems fault. Check with your internet provider on the speeds they provide. That is more meaningful than the router. If your router can't deliver your subscribed speed, maybe look into a different router.
