Q: Questioncompatible with other netgear routersIs this modem compatible with my Netgear 6250 router?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I imagine all modems are compatible with all routers if they're both manufactured within the last decade or so. The only connection required between the modem and a router is a single, standard Ethernet (LAN) cable.

Asked by Madhu.
- A:Answer From what I understand there are no modem/routers with phone jacks...at least there aren't any that are compatible with Time Warner Cable. We had to keep their modem just for our land line, but they are not charging us to do that.

Q: Questioncan i Chang the ip address to a 10.0.0 ip
Asked by nerdish2.
- A:Answer In my experience the NETGEAR CM600 will automatically assign 192.168.1.1 to whatever device is plugged in to its LAN port. As to why someone would want to change this, one reason would be because you want to set up a VPN server so you can remote back to your home network while you're away. In this case the IP address ranges at both locations must be different so they don't conflict. Considering the typical home network is 192.168.1.x, they would conflict. To the other poster who responded: just because your limited knowledge of networking doesn't allow you to understand nerdish2's question, doesn't mean it is a bad question.

Q: QuestionI have a Netgear AC 1750 Router. My TV freezes and the CPU is now running slow. Cox said get a 16 speed modem. I am confused. Best Buy said my 3.0 Docis was compatible with Cox and this Router. 3.1 is too much. Advice?
Asked by Cwboyfn1.
- A:Answer Regardless of your ISP speeds & individual needs, this modem should be plenty for Cox speeds (except for Gigablast). This modem wasn't too much more than a 16-channel Motorola that I bought but due to a tech support issue with Cox, they actually credited my account the difference so it was a no-brainer. I have it paired with a WRT3200ACM and have no problems streaming 4k video!

Q: QuestionI have 65 Mbps and 5 upload would this make my internet faster?
Asked by Syntax124.
- A:Answer If you provider gives higher rates it should make your internet faster. I get 100Mbps with TWC which is their maximum rate available at my house. The device should support higher rates if available from your provider. Just remember many providers charge for higher rates.
