• Only if you want wireless connection. You can plug your computer directly into the modem. If you want wireless you will also need a wireless router

• Yes - you will need a router connected to the modem in order to be able to access the Comcast signal via wifi. Because of the variety of routers available, it would be to your advantage to talk to Best Buy about which router is best for your application.
