You can use the same network name, but it recommends you change it. You can choose to use the same passsword or a unique one when you set it up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can't answer your question about the compatibility with a CT1100T, but the setup process extended my existing network. It creates a 5G and 2G extension on the same network name. All you have to do is connect it to your router by a few simple button pushes, and wait for it to run its processes. I'm not a tech savvy person, but despite others commenting on how complicated it is to set this up, I found it to be very easy. Just have to be patient while the device runs through its processes.
