is this the speed from your modem? If so, then this unit WILL NOT increase your speed. You have to have the speed increased by your internet service provider. If you do have a service plan where your speed is greater than 2Mbps and you are only seeing speeds of 2Mbps, then you need to contact your ISP and tell them or your issue so they can correct it before purchasing this unit. Any speed that is coming from your ISP's modem will be repeated by the repeater. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

If you are standing next to your main router and still have 2 MB then you need to get that issue resolved first with your service provider. If you have better speed closer to your main router, putting this between that router and the place where it is slow will help as long as you put this within 100 ft of your main router and you then go within 100 ft of this device, The tech specs say it can go further, but I would say with walls and interference I wouldn't count on it. 50 feet between main router then this then your slow device is even better.
