It will as long as you place the extender on the second floor somewhere that there is a decent signal. We placed our upstairs directly above our router that is on the first floor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this was exactly our application. The signal was two weak for an older desktop with a wi-fi modem to connect. We actually put the range extender in the room with the desktop. The range extender was able to connect to the wi-fi in an upstairs room. The desktop could connect to the wi-fi signal from the extender and we had no issues streaming video and using the internet.
