Yes, all it does is boost the WiFi, it doesn’t provide you internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This extender “goes” between wireless devices like cell phones, tablets, and laptops and a traditional network router. So however you log into your router from your cell phone, tablet, or laptop, the extender would be configured one time only through its configuration webpage. Think of the extender as a “wireless extension cord” to allow your existing wireless devices to be farther away from the original network router than they are now..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do need an internet provider, at least you need some type of WIFI. Remember this is a WIFI extender. It does work very well I have mine up stairs so all my devices up stairs are connected to it with no problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your purpose is just to extend the distance of your working LAN, (I assume for home automation, printer access or file sharing) then no IP is required during normal operation. You may need the internet during setup. You could use a hot point setup on a cell phone for that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need to have an internet service in order to use this WiFi range extender.
