This range extender only connects to the main router through Wi-Fi. You want to connect a router in access point mode via the Ethernet cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can connect through Ethernet port if you have one available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can...I have a switch hard wired to my wireless router that can't reach the whole house wirelessly so I hooked this up wired and connect to it in the room where I had no wireless signal. Works great! You can even hook up a storage device so that everyone connected to your network can store or pull from the storage device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, I recently bought this extender and as I was reading in the instructions it states that is cannot be connected via ethernet cable to the router. It is solely is designed to connect to the router via wifi. And just so you know it is also quite a bit slower of a connection than direct to router would be. If it's your only option then you gotta do what you gotta do, but I have a cable modem connection that I get around 90Mbs but via the extender I was getting between 2-7Mbs. Just food for thought.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I actually did that too and it works fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you cannot use Ethernet to connect to it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it is strictly wireless.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope, though if you have cat5 run already, you could just use a second wireless router in bridge mode, this is going to be a better choice anyway(the best speed you can get out of a repeater or extender is about 50% of your wireless speed though this is unnoticeable to all but the very fastest internet connections). also note this is not a repeater it is an extender(you will be given two new wireless networks centered around the extender rather than the same network repeated around the repeater).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can connect via wired, it has a Gigabit Ethernet port and it can also be used as an Access Point.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No its an extender only and doesn't have an ethernet port. Check out the Netgear routers (i.e. AC1600 dual band router). The cost is comparable and will give you what you need.
