This is a standalone router so, it should work with any modem you plug it into. this will not connect directly to your cable line, if that is what you are asking.

As long as you have a separate modem, sure it will work. There is no modem in this router.

It does but it's a hassle if you want to use WiFi and not be tethered to an ethernet cable. From a PC that you are able to reach internet on go to http://192.168.1.1/ Log in with admin as username and password as password. Click Advanced and choose Setup - Internet Setup. Make sure everything is set to automatic/dynamic and at the last option for Router MAC Adddress choose Use Computer MAC Address. Click apply This worked for me. My daughter found this solution on the internet after the trained techs at Best Buy and Charter were unable to help and after they kept making us try the same things over and over again, so frustrating and a waste of time. The tech support was TERRIBLE. Now my internet works fine.
