Will this work with Hotwire cable null

This will work with any provider, but it doesn't replace the cable modem. Those have to be support by your cable company. Check their web site for a list of their recommendations.

This router is not a modem /router. If your ISP has provided you with a modem, then run the ethernet cable from modem to router, and bam you hooked up.

This is a stand-alone router, not a cable/modem combo unit. If you already have a stand-alone modem, you should be able to connect it to this router.
