“Can I connect an External Hard Drive to my Netgear router so the entire house can use it as a backup storage location? Should I connect it though the router or through a Netgear switch I have? I have no external drive yet so any thoughts?”

• I just connected a 2TB Drive to this router by USB, and I use this for my Mac Time Machine backup. The storage should be available to any computer in your home.

• Yes, you can. That's what I've done. For my external hard drive I use WD My Cloud Home.
