Yes, this will allow your pc to connect to your home network Wi-Fi. I love mine, it doesn’t stick out and get bent like my old one.

I have an internet router downstairs which is hooked up to my main PC in the living room. Upstairs I have a smaller PC on which my A600 is plugged into a USB port. It is acting as sort of an "antenna" picking up the signal sent by the router downstairs to my adapter upstairs. I do not think that the adapter, by itself, is capable of picking up a signal directly from the internet. It picks up the signal which my router sends out and it will also pick up a number of other signals sent by my neighbors who also have routers on their PC's. Theoretically, if you had the passwords for all of your neighbors' routers, you could enter them into the different signals which are being picked up by the adapter and you would have internet from each of them. That is the purpose of using a password on your router to begin with, it stops others from logging onto your router and using your internet connection for whatever are their needs on the internet.
