“Are the cameras on and can view an area when not recording or detecting motion?”

• You can hit a live view button and watch briefly. Not sure if it can be set for longer. I am using the free access. Not sure what you get if you pay a monthly fee.

• My outside cameras are set to come on for a specified amount of time (45 secs is what I chose) if motion detected. However, I can turn them on live and have done it many times. I can check out the live feed, take a photo or begin recording at any point.

• Yes, you can use the camera to view area when not recording or detecting, but it will tax your camera's battery.

• No, the cameras need to be on for viewing.
