The camera is really sensitive no matter what setting I have it on. When I erase several days of storage it erased all of them.

Absolutely love this product. Worth every dime of the purchase price. Haven't had the first problem since installing the system. Instructions are so easy to follow and do it yourself. Just install and set wireless up and BAM your done. Definitely recommend this!

We purchased this system (after a theft at our home) I wish we would have had it in place before! It is super simple to set up, all wireless and if the thief would take the camera it is already recorded and saved in the clouds. The Police Officer was impressed with the clarity of the video. I highly recommend this system. We plan on getting additional cameras. Right now all of the doorways are recorded but I want them on the sides of the house too. Installation was fast and easy, hooked up to our wireless system, we have the app on our phones and can watch what is going on outside the home and one camera inside (aimed at front door), we can keep an eye on the dogs too and talk to them through the wired camera. I absolutely recommend this system to anyone. We paired it with Ring doorbell/camera/speaker.

I've had this system for several months now and it's been a pretty good to problematic ssytem. The good: 1. Easy installation. I had no real issues installing the cameras or bas station. The wireless cameras had a different installation process than the powered Arlo Q cameras, but overall I had no issues. 2. Good picture quality. Picture quality is quite good especially the 1080p Arlo Qs. The infrared night vision pictures are pretty good. 3. The video recordings on the app are good and easily accessible through the video library. I have night downloaded a video from the cloud yet, so I cannot comment on on how well it works. The bad: 1. Camera record delay. There is a long delay from when the wireless cameras first detect motion and when the recordings starts. It's about a 10 to 12 seconds delay causing the camera to possibly not record the most part important part of the video. 2. Arlo Qs (Plug in cameras) are touchy. Great picture and sound, but they run to hot. The casing is very hot to the touch; always. I've had problems with one of the 2 Arlo Q cameras sound not freezing up and losing sound at least once. I had to uninstall and reinstall the camera the to fix problems. 3. The Arlo app is bit difficult to navigate and customize. It seems easy at first, but you have to navigate through too many levels to figure out certain changes. I often have trouble finding where certain options are located (or hidden). Netgear definitely needs an app redesign. Voice commands would go a long way. Even with the issues listed, it's still a fairly good sytem, especially considering the wireless feature. But, Netgear will have to make some important upgrades to make it a better to great sytem.

The arlo cameras are amazing for the price in my opinion. Easy to set up, easy to mount and the magnet is very strong on the camera. You can adjust the sensitivity level as well as duration of the clip when motion is detected. You can choose to record from 10sec to over 2min. Arlo has an app so you can view the recordings and live view threw your iPhone or android. The night vision on the cameras give a well view at night. The arlo q has same functions as the wireless ones but with some extra features like you can hear what's going around the area as well as you can speak threw the phone and you will be able to hear yourself threw the camera. The only thing I do not like about the camera is that it can only record one camera at a time which ever detects motion first.

I was looking for a camera system that is 100% wire-free. The cameras use CR123 batteries and WiFi, so they are 100% wire-free. Nest cameras use WiFi but need an A/C power source. Also, the monthly fee is much cheaper for these cameras. Arlo lets you use a free plan that gives you a small amount of space for cloud recording, where Nest won't let you use anything. Overall, I really recommend it.

The good: - Good video quality for outside and inside cameras. - Easy to set up. - App is easy to use. - Easy to mount cameras. - Your able to zoom in on recorded videos. - 7 days of video back up available. The bad: - Battery life in Florida heat sucks. 1st camera battery was done after 1 week. 2nd lasted about 3 weeks. - Night vision does not work through windows. - The visible field of vision is smaller than the actual motion detection field. Important to know if your cameras are near a heavily traveled road for sensitivity purposes. - Very basic instructions included in the box, so you have to search online to in a community forum to find out and navigate more complex functions.

I live in a vacation destination and was recently hit by package thiefs! I leave my camera on a special mode when I am home (motion only). it provided a clear daytime picture to give the police. The infrared night time is a bit fuzzier, even with the 1080 definition. This does not alert the police but it helps catch thiefs afterwards.

I bought the top of the line system to monitor my Dog that was diagnosed with a debilitating form of cancer (RIP Namac). During his last month, I had confidence that every angle was covered in my home and being able to speak through 2 of the cameras was a big plus. The image quality is excellent and you have the option to lower the quality to save on battery life. It has other options, such as motion detection, but I was getting annoyed by all the notifications. My only negatives are the delay (about 3 seconds) and the voice quality on the 2 way audio. You need to really speak up to be heard! Other than that, this is an excellent system and exceptionally easy setup. I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends. And for those of you interested, here is a video on the BEST dog ever, Namac. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf9t-rb3RUk

Great product and easy to set up. I really like the night vision and quality of the video along with ease-of-use regarding the phone app . I have had this system for about a year now and should have written review sooner but decided to now because of my great customer service experience I just had with Netgear regarding my Arlo system . I was having a problem connecting the device to my new iPhone and there was a profile information problem that I inadvertently caused involving email and password resets. It took a little bit of waiting time but was connected with tech-support assistant name Ling who was extremely helpful and patient, and although it took a bit of time to sort out the issue we got it resolved!

I had my doubts about the functionality of this system but now I'm convinced it works as advertised and I think it's great! Being a Netgear product is what finally convinced me to try it - I've had great luck with Netgear routers over the years including my current Nighthawk X6 tri-band. Set-up was quick and I only had a few challenges paring a couple of the wireless cameras but after a few tries I got the hang of it. I would have given it a 5 star but the App seems to have a few quirks - still works well and intuitive. Battery life is okay and down about 10% avg on all 4 batteries after 8 days - note not armed all the time. Some lag as others have noted but for what it's supposed to do not a real issue and picture quality is very good. Two variables that make the difference for me: 1) Wireless and can install just about anywhere around the house; 2) access from anywhere in the world!

Bought this after recommended by my son, who researched these types of home video monitors and recommended this one after buying it himself. I'm reasonably capable with home and businesss IT electronics, and found this relatively easy to set up. As I've played with it, I've figured out the best way to use the various cameras and recording modes to suit my needs. But it would have been nice if the box included more detaled instructions on how best use the set up, mode, and scheduling functions, instead of making you find what you want toknow on their website, or trial and error like I did. I have not been able to set up the "geofencing" mode, which I believe is supposed to turn the cameras off if it detects you are at home with your geopositioned cell phone. It shows that as a beta function, so maybe it's not supposed to be functional yet. I had previously looked into having a professionally installed wired system for much greater cost. Very glad I found this instead. Only problem is if power or internet is out, it becomes nonfunctional, But so does almost everything else electronic we live with.

Decent security system for homeowner installation

The Arlo system is fairly decent if you need to install a 100% wireless system. The indoor cameras (AC required) were very good - we were able to stream on demand and also listen/speak (we once used it as a monitor for our puppy and freaked him out by talking to him). The base is magnetic or it can be screwed in making it simple to install and adjust. The outdoor cameras had surprisingly good WiFi connectivity and battery life. We had the cameras for about 6 weeks in a high-traffic area and the batteries dropped only to about 88%. The magnetic mounts make them easy to adjust, while the optional screw-in mounts are more secure. In the end we wound up returning the system for 4 reasons: 1) the geofencing option, which is still in beta, only worked successfully about 80% of the time. The other times the cameras would activate even though I was home. 2)The picture quality I would rate only as fair. The indoor cameras were slightly better but the outdoor cameras were too far away...even though one was mounted about 6' from our front door, it was still difficult to make out faces. The camera would practically need to be mounted to the doorframe to get a good look. 3) the controls, via iOS and web browser are very limited- no FF, Rewind, slo-mo etc. and bar to drag ahead and back often didn't work at all. 4) the 'free' storage option is only good for up to 6 cameras and the videos are only saved for about a week. If you need more cameras or longer storage (30 day max?) you have to pay a monthly subscription. Bottom line, if hardwiring is not an option, the Arlo is probably the best system out there. If you can run Cat 5e, go with Ubiquiti UVC G3 system or Synology instead.

The Camera system is fairly easy to set up. The infrared is not very good unless there is ambient light. I have one on the outside and the white trim of the house overpowers everything else, so you cannot see down range. The wireless requires the use of a range extender, otherwise the cameras do not work. All in all is's ok, but the cost adds up. Also, the batteries seem to go fast on the cameras that are activated more often.

Very happy with Arlo. Great picture quality, and super easy setup. I've never had anything easier. Only "bad" thing are the batteries. They're pretty expensive and each camera takes four batteries. But the batteries do last a while, depending on use. The in home cameras are great. I use them to watch my dogs when I go on trips. I can talk to them and make it seem like I'm there so they don't get lonely and tear up the house.

The installation and setup was quick and easy. I had no problems syncing the cameras with the base station, and have set up the app on my phone, my wife's phone, and a tablet (all android ). I had to make were to fine tune the motion detection, which the app makes very easy to accomplish. It was very easy to create a couple of modes with rules and schedules. I have a schedule set up to monitor and record motion outside every night.

This Arlo set up is a big upgrade from the Vuezone cameras. Great picture quality and the option to get some plug-in cameras for high use areas has been a big help. The battery operated cameras are still too much of a battery hog - i heard there are cameras out there with much longer batter life. We currently only use ours indoors.

This system is very easy to set up and the cameras look and feel like high quality. It's expensive. One of my cameras developed a red tint to the image. Netgear replaced the camera but I had to pay for shipping which I thought was lame as my problem is a known issue and I bought it less than a month ago. I would have had to take down everything if I wanted to exchange at best buy which is also lame. Other than the bad camera it is a wonderful product and it gives my family piece of mind.

The Arlo cameras make a great entry security system so you can hopefully get a picture of the face(s) of anyone attempting to break into your house. Since the pictures are stored, in the cloud, you probably will get their picture before they find or even know the camera is there. The idea of wireless cameras is great, but the cameras tend to drain the batteries pretty fast. May need to consider the rechargeable battery cameras for any additions.
