Q: QuestionWhat kind of batteries does it take?
Asked by jminchitown.
- A:Answer You are supposed to use non rechargeable CR123 lithium 3-volt photo batteries (4 of them). Arlo says not to use "inferior" batteries. They list Panasonic, Energizer and Duracell as "well known" manufacturers. They discourage the use of any rechargeable batteries...... "they may pose a fire hazard or they may damage your camera.

Q: QuestionWhen the internet is down, can the cameras still record for later viewing? I have spotty internet. I understand that they won't send notifications with no internet but could the cameras still record videos?
Asked by wellwisher.
- A:Answer No. There is no local storage for these cameras or the base station. Everything is uploaded to the cloud. Your internet connection could be "spotty" because of where your base station is located or even your router. Try to locate the base station as close to your cameras as possible. Your router location could also be a problem. Walls or other electrical devices can also affect your wifi. My old router used to lose connection when I was using the microwave.
