One is for the 2.4 Ghz and one is for the 5 Ghz. You can hook up to either of them. I have been told the 2.4 has a longer range but that the 5.0 is faster and more compatible with newer devices. I was advised to hook phones to 2.4 and TVs and computer to 5.0. They both use the same password. I don't see why you would want to fix it to only 1 internet connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WiFi works on two frequency bands today. And depending on your phone or device you may be able to only connect to one or the other. 5Ghz generally supports faster connections than 2.4ghz, but has a shorter range from the router. You can disable one or the other in settings if you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It gives you the 2.4 ghz and 5ghz because it's a dual band modem/router. You can fix it to just one by connecting it to the band you want and leave the other band alone, don't connect it at all. But if you did just go into the settings on the device you connected it to and select "forget".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 2.4gh is for shorter range and older devices. The 5gh is for newer devices and longer ranges. It comes with a genie app that can be diwnloaded from the app or play store to configure it easily.
