I do not have cable television in my home and I subscribe to things like Netflix, Hulu to stream or watch television/movies it supports my internet needs and allows me to stream the things that I would like to watch and surf the internet quickly and efficiently, it doesn't require cable television to work and supports several wireless devices from smart tv's to laptops and I-pads.

As long as you maintain the internet service with your company, you'll be able to use a streaming device like AppleTV. Myself, I have several Rokus in my house. I have not had cable tv since 2012, and I honestly don't miss it.
