“WiFI 802.11ac: is this router backwards compatible with older equipment? I have a Brother wireless printer, g-band and 2.4GHz only. Does this router have a 2.4GHz band or not? It makes a big deal over being dual band and 802.11ac protocol. That might mean that it has two bands of 5GHz each. Anyway: is this going to work with my Brother printer or not?”

• Yes it supports 2.4Ghz, you have the option of turning both bands on or just one.

• It is dual band 2.4 and 5 and is backwards comparable a, b, and g. My laptop uses the 2.4 g and my iPhone connects of the 5 ghz. Apps that used to take a few minutes to download now take a few seconds.

• Simultaneous Dual Band WiFi—2.4 & 5GHz So it has both. I connected my wireless printer with no problem. It also has Four (4) 10/100/1000 LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports with auto-sensing technology. So you could hard wire your printer to it with no problem.

• Yes the 2.4 and 5g runs at the same time but a lot of none up to date stuff won't pick up the 5g but everything picks up the 2.4

• it was done atomically on it own as older computers or any thing will work on only 2.4GHz only but as of todays computers as laptop and tablets and even smart phones will work is 5GHz so that 5GHz is much stronger and faster than 2.4GHz so and it also have dual band that means both have 2.4 and 5GHz bands in one system

• Has both 2.4 and 5GHz. I have brother printer and older laptop that works well on the 2.4GHz and IPhones use the 5GHz
