Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For me, the NETGEAR N900 Dual Band Wireless-N Router with 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch limited the speed to my ac wireless card laptop. Very disappointed in the unit as well as netgear support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The gigabit switch can transfer higher speeds than the regular Ethernet switch, but it is more dependent on the speed of the internet being supplied to the switch (from your internet provider) Either will likely surpass the speed you get from your provider. Think of the switch as the speedometer on your car; it doesn't matter if it goes up to 110mph or 150mph is the car itself will only do 85mph.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.its the same just has one extra port and more range
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From your title looks like the only difference is the extra port. 5 port vs 4 port
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Netgear has about 11 ac wireless routers. So you would have to be more specific on which one to compare to the wndr4500. All ac routers are faster and have further range in some ways than any good n router. All Netgear n and ac wireless routers have 5 gigabit ports. One gigabit port for the ethernet wire connection from your modem and 4 more gigabit ports to connect by ethernet wire 4 devices of your choice or need. Many of the Netgear ac routers are labeled smart routers as they can do more and handle more. If you are going to buy a quality router make it an ac router, and get the one with the most features and speed that you can pay for. You will not be sorry. I recommend the Netgear R7000.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This one has a dual band wireless router with a 5-port ethernet switch, while the other has a 4-port ethernet switch and an AC router.
