“Can this make a sluggish internet faster. I am not very technical minded but I have terrible internet speed and cannot use streaming video on my tv because of it. Can getting a new router such as this one help me”

I recently upgraded my old cable modem to a DOCSIS 3.0 unit (the old one was DOCSIS 2.0. It made a big difference. Then my old single band router went bad. I replaced it with a Dual Band router. Huge improvement. Fact is, you have to replace modems and routers as technology advances and leaves the old hardware behind. In my experience, plan to change every 3 or 4 years if not sooner.

If your computer has slow sluggish speed the router will not put out any faster. I suggest you upgrade your computer or get one that has a high speed processor. Talk to your Best Buy Geek squad to get more info on what you need for your type of work or play....Good luck !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Will not speed up your internet. However. Your problem could have been caused by a faulty router or poor quality router before. Purchasing a router with a higher range for wifi will help when streaming. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, sometimes the speed can be reduced if your router isn't capable of higher bandwidths. I'm not sure what your current router's features/capabilities are or how old of technology it might be, but that and/or the set up could have something to do with a sluggish connection. I'm able to stream movies, videos, and Skype with no issues and I'm currently getting between 50M to 100M rates off of a 30M connection, which I wasn't getting before when I had an older Netgear router. I would recommend getting this router it does everything it claims to do!

You might be able to drive 90 mph. But if the road is only one lane wide you still don't get enough data through. So you need to be able to handle the data in larger packets. New router might help.

And even a non electronics guy like me was able to get it working and geez what difference it made. Down load is quick as pushing a button now. No more waiting minutes or wasting your day just to watch a movie . It's worth it.
