• Yes, the computer is upstairs so I tend to get 2.4ghz most of the time.

• You will need to set it to what you want i use 5.0 works great eather way

• It does not use 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz at the same time. it will use 5.0ghz if you have a router is capable of 5.0ghz.

• it use's the fastest signal it can get, but that's up to you on which router to pick the signal off of and how far it's going. I get mine off my router at the other end of my house and still the speed is the same as if it was connected to the router. mine is 5GHz and download is about 50Mhps, upload about 7Mhps. great product.
