It shouldn’t. But you never know with your isp. I’d just keep tabs on it and call and complain about speeds

What I can tell you is that I am on a gig tier plan, but average about 450 mbps download and 40 up load when I run OOKLA speed tests. Now, when I check my Nighthawk router speeds at the source (connection between modem and router) they average twice that (about 960 mbps down load). I do not know how the ISP could slow down my speeds if the connection between modem and router is solidly that fast. My thinking is I need to update all of my ethernet cables to CAT 7 as opposed to many of them being 5e. But as a best answer to your question, I have not experienced Xfinity throttling my speeds with my Netgear modem and router. Their performance has been consistent, and very fast. I am happy with them.
