I bought a Netgear Nighthawk Model CM1150V and had to attach it to an ORBI Tri Band Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi w/ 3 Gbps (RBK 50). It works perfectly. You should call 1 800 xfinity for help before buying the ORBI, or call Netgear and ask them what you should do, (Netgear support 1 888 6384327) Good luck

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This modem does not have wifi so it will not work by itself to access the internet. You will have to buy another piece of equipment called a router and hook that up to the modem in order to get the wifi service. We have a similar plan through Xfinity and just upgraded to this modem. We already had a Netgear router so we hooked that up to this modem and we are happy with both so far. We had to call Netgear to have them help us get it working, but we had a good experience with their customer service.
