• I can't comment on a 2 year old Netgear ORBI wireless router. However, I can say that it worked just fine with an older Apple Airport Extreme.

• This is a modem. A modem takes in the signal from a source and turns it into something that a router then disburse to what you would see available as internet. A 2 year old router will work with this as long as you hook it up properly however a router can’t work with a router and a modem can’t work with a modem.
