A:AnswerIt was a relatively easy install and replacement for Xfinity (Comcast) rented equipment. I would imagine it should be the same for any cable provider. I needed this unit because of the internet speed offered by my provider plus the fact that we are still old fashion with a land line phone.

I am not sure what the problem is but it bottle-necked our 1000Mbps internet to 41-100 Mbps.

A:AnswerThis device has no battery backup built in. I'm using an external 12v UPS (12v in/12vout) that's small enough to fit into the cabinet with the cable modem. Try googling for 12v ups router.
