This product is designed to do exactly that, it will take your network and make it reach farther. It won't need to be near the modem exactly, but you will need to connect it (via WiFi to the modem) then it will rebroadcast the network (it will be a separate network [It will add a -2 to the end of whatever your network name is so you can tell them apart] and it will connect to the internet thru your modem). If you want stronger signal in another part of the house, this is the product for you. This is what you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Place it in the center of your house on the second floor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most definitely. Turn wireless off of your router. Plug the Net Gear device directly into the router via ethernet plug. Put Net Gear device in AP mode. Welcome to fast wireless.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should do some testing on where the best location for this would be in your particular house. Ideally, you would put it about half way between your modem and the dead spot. Be aware that using it as a signal booster like that will possibly not give your the results you're looking for. The best way by far is to connect this to a network cable but if you don't have cabling installed then you would use it as a booster.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine at least 50 feet away (both on the first floor) and I get excellent reception from the EXTENDER both outside and on the second floor! Buy it...try it...if you don't like it, just bring it back!
