My experience using it as a booster was not good. It seemed to decrease the signal from the host wifi unit. I reprogrammed it to function as an access point (ethernet cable from/to router) with a new name and it worked well by supplying a new wifi signal in the dead zone of the house. I have since installed a Google Mesh system (3 units in 3,100 sq, ft. house) and it is fantastic. REALLY bumped up wifi coverage throughout the entire house including garage and basement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this extender does not increase signal from the antenna. It will pick up the signal and repeat it which extends the distance of the original signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It did while it was working. I have been calling the customer service group at netgear and even though the extender is under warranty the want to charge me to talk about the problem and there are several test I must preform before they will exchange the unit.
