- Answer You cannot. It requires a driver to be installed. But they do have things such a ROKU that can turn a regular tv into a "smart" tv.

- Answer As long as you download the software and set it up properly it should work with any USB port. I would recommend using a USB three port for maximum speed, but it works with USB two ports to my knowledge

- Answer There are two parts to this question that are separate. 1. As long as your laptop has at least one usb-a port, you can use it with any device that can run the drivers needed. 2. Does the adapter provide free Wi-Fi? No. No adapter does. It just gives the computer the ability to connect to existing Wi-Fi networks in range.

- Answer It comes with a CD If your computer has a CD, not a problem I am wireless, so the CD was easier and simple to use

QuestionWill it work out of the box without the CD? I have no disc drive so i would need it to work out of the box so that i can use the internet to download the drivers or anything else, thanks.

- Answer You need the drivers, before it works properly. My suggestion would be, if you can download the drivers using a friend's computer and saving them on a USB Drive. The installation gives you the option to install the drives from the CD or a location on your computer, but I don't think it will work without the installation.

- Answer Depending on the age PCIE generation on your motherboard you might get faster speed with an add-on card, so look up your motherboard specs to see which will be best for you.

- Answer Does your router broadcast in 2.4ghz and/or 5 ghz? Then the answer is yes. Since this the standard for most routers since like 2008 then I would assume you router does as well.

- Answer I would say no. Netgear requires special drivers to be loaded and they only provide a CD/DVD with the driver software. Also the operating system used by Wally is unknown so your locked into the $49 version that only they can offer. So long as a friend or associated has one you can test with...give it a try..but im betting its no better then a brick to wally device.

- Answer Sorry, unable to answer this question any degree of expertise, but my guess is no. This would be due to the customized version of windows that Xbox uses, and this adapter requires drivers for standard windows/Mac OS. Of course, I could certainly be wrong. We are using this due to a company supplied PC that didn’t come with on board wifi (!!). I imagine you are looking for better throughput than the on board wifi? An option could be power line products. Good luck!

If you are unable to find that, download and install the drivers...if the OS is not supported, the driver installation will fail with a message. - Answer No reason the adapter will receive the video but not the audio. Double check your audio settings on the connected desktop.
