If you have Spectrum internet then you have internet through your cable line. You need to swap out your existing modem with this one using the the same line. If you want to change locations in your home to a different cable connection then a Spectrum technician will need to come out and switch the internet to whichever line you choose. However, I also have Spectrum internet, and supposedly this modem isn’t compatible with their system. I don’t know if this is a product issue or just a lack of knowledge of the part of the representative as I didn’t get a second opinion. For the price, though, it might be better to use the same modem and just get a better router and/or upgrade your internet speed through Spectrum.
