We have a planned release of the satellites later this year.

Yes it is expandable. They just recently released the single satellites on the nether website. They are not available at Best Buy at this moment.

According to Netgear, you will be able to purchase satellites to expand the network. However, they are not yet available.

Like many of the mesh systems produced by most manufacturers, you can start out with the base station, and 1 satellite, and expand accordingly. 

However, be aware that it's often harder to find the individual satellites at the initial launch of a new product, and the supply chains usually take a few months to start stocking them. YMMV.
