Yes this setup should work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't recommend it. This product is really designed for someone as advanced as yourself. The mesh systems won't even allow to choose between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz as the system uses one SSID for both and balances it for you. The only way for you to change it is to use a telnet connection to the router and get into the linux OS of the router to change the settings. The software that comes with the router mesh is not that advance. I actually returned mine because the balancing wasn't going well. I think the load you are looking to put on both the main router and the sattelite would be too much. I recommend going with a much better router and purchasing a repeater for what you are looking to do.
